IPG System & Software Training

IPG provides operation, set-up, and maintenance training for laser systems and software after acceptance testing and installation are complete.  Training is intended to ensure operator safety and enable your operation to fully benefit from the productivity and precision of high-performance laser systems.

If you are interested in a specific standard training course, please see the list below.  If there is a course you are interested in that is not listed, or if you wish to contact IPG with a general training inquiry, please contact us

Training Courses

YLS Series Basic Training

Course participants will gain knowledge and experience to safely operate and maintain an IPG high-power fiber laser, with an introduction to IPG ancillary equipment (e.g. chillers, couplers, and beam switches).

YLS Series Advanced Training

In this advanced three-day course, participants will cover all standard basic YLS training content but gain additional hands-on experience and technical proficiency with beam measurement devices.

IPG Laser Seam Stepper (LSS) Operations

Course participants will gain knowledge and hands-on experience needed to confidently operate the IPG LSS system, understand its components and functionality, and optimize basic system parameters for efficient daily operation.

LightWELD® University

Course participants will review laser welding safety and fundamental principles, compare handheld laser and traditional welding techniques, and optimize LightWELD settings to enable high-quality welding and cleaning across various materials and applications.

LightWELD® Cobot System Training

Course participants are prepared to safely and effectively operate the LightWELD Cobot System by applying laser welding fundamentals, programming and controlling the collaborative robot, optimizing process parameters, and performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.

Cognex Training

Course participants will learn Cognex VisionPro essential skills from a Cognex representative. These skills will then be shown how to be leveraged into an IPG system with one of our Applications engineers.

Standard LDD-700 Real-Time Monitoring Training

Course participants will gain the skills needed to independently calibrate an LDD system, monitor weld processes, analyze results, and perform basic troubleshooting in a production environment.

FANUC Basic Robotic Programming & Operations

Course participants are equipped with the skills to safely operate, program, and troubleshoot basic robotic systems by navigating the teach pendant, creating and editing programs, applying logic and control instructions, and managing system files and utilities for efficient task execution.

FANUC Advanced Robotic Programming & Operations

Course participants will gain hands-on experience with advanced robotic tasks such as robot masteringcoordinated motion, frame setup, tool center point calibration, and utilize advanced ArcTool software functions designed to improve repeatability in production welding environments.

FANUC WeldPRO Offline Programming

Course attendees will buildsimulate, and program virtual robotic welding systems using ROBOGUIDE software, including system setup, CAD import, process parameter definition, program transfer best practices, and cycle time optimization.
